2. Standard Test for LAG ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I do get bad stutter in Jita but I didn't include that when I refered to my Jita lag being minimal. I suspect alot of people are incorrectly blaming lag when it's actually stutter. Don't get the two confused because stutter is entirely solvable w...

3. GUI multitasking improvements - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
Actually, it is a major issue. Stuttering like that is also what gets a lot of pilots podded and mission runners losing billion ISK kits. It's all the same problem. Previous standing thread on the problem, Decouple Client Interface from Network .

Originally by: J'Mkarr Soban OpenGL rocks the world, I don't know why they used DX, except it might have been a wee bit better when they started Eve rolling. OpenGL ruled when Eve was started. Back then, DirectX was terribly buggy and a...

Edited by: Solbright alt on 07/06/2007 00:41:12 There is some junk log files that can be deleted at any time. It may not help but it's easy to do before jumping on the useful files: First delete is the "logs" directory in the main "eve" dir...

Was that timing for just the black screen between it saying "entering station" and the first picture of your ship?

10. Standard Test for LAG ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Adaris 6th log in: Black Screen for 23 minutes (system pop - 539, left Jita) Very strange. I just don't get that. Jita lag is barely even noticable for me. Maybe a few seconds sometimes.

11. skill queue - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
Huh? Greedy? For the menial function of changing skills? Why the reluctance? It's not like a skill queue impacts on gameplay. Have you considered that some people can't get online each and every day? It's almost like you wish undue harm on others...

12. Many Client Problems - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
The black screen hint might mean the GPU is cooking. There is definitely something wrong at your end. You don't get hard lockups from a bad user program. Have you disabled ingame sound? Some sound cards have a fit with Eve.

13. Standard Test for LAG ? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Originally by: Vladt Example: Something like if two Fleet in XY meet with 50 Pilots on each side the LAG rages from 1 - 2 Minute , same Fleet with 100 Pilots 4 - 15 Minutes That sort of behaviour sounds like stutter, not lag. Stutter is...

14. Many Client Problems - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
It's possible you got a corrupted download. Or, as someone else recently found, the cache directory needs a clean. Start with that, then a fresh download and install. If those don't work you're back to your hardware overheating.

15. Many Client Problems - in Issues, Workarounds & Localization [original thread]
Sounds like unstable hardware or thermal shutdown. Check your fans and heatsinks. Other causes are things like a weak power supply or dodgy DIMM.

As much as I hate to admit the obsessive nature that this idea portrays but a skill training queue would go a long way to subduing the complaints of those unable to connect for a while.
